I am delighted to know that the 6th diabetes in Asia
conference will be held in Cairo, march 2006
This conference, like the preceding conferences, will
further consolidate the partnership between the SEA
and the EMME regions of the IDF. The large number of
people with diabetes living in these regions makes this
conference a vitality important forum for elevating
the profile of diabetes and improving the delivery of
diabetes care.
Health care provision in our part of the world has to
be tailored to the specific needs of our population,
and this was our mission when we hosted the first Diabetes
in Asia conference in Karachi, Pakistan in 1999. I am
sure that Professor Morsi Arab and his team will carry
forward this endeavor with great success.
